SHELL KERBSIDE PETROL PUMP

A superb and majestic 8ft tall Shell Kerbside Petrol Pump of the 1920's. With 2 visible half gallon containers this hand cranked pump would fill the glass containers and then gravity would do the rest. The globe denoted that the petrol was not for re-sale and was for private use only. This pump originated from the Royal Hotel's private car park which was situated in Lemon Street, Truro and is shown courtesy of the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro where it will be on display until November / December 2009
